TRISHA Noble made a spectacular return to Australian theatre as Johnny O'Keefe's mother in Shout!.
Now she's about to star in Three Winters Green, an Australian play at the Stables Theatre.
David Wicks asked Trisha:
Q: Three Winters Green has been described as "an important and thought provoking night of theatre ... superbly comic with moments of real and surpassing power." Why did you take the role?
A: It's a challenge. My character runs the gamut of emotions and goes through a journey of crisis and change. She is a survivor, in the true emotional and spiritual sense of the word.
Q: Do you still have the first Logie Award for Best Female Singer on Australian TV? If so, where does it sit?
A: Yes. I do have it ... but it's still waiting to be unpacked from my latest move ? I've had so many.
Q: From the many successful American TV series you guest-starred on, have you an embarrassing moment you can share?
A: Yes! On The Rockford Files shooting a scene with James Garner, he whispered to me, like a perfect gentleman, that my strapless top was on its way down to my waist!
Q: Did your scenes in Star Wars II make it to the screen? Will you be in Star Wars III?
A: My scenes made it to the DVD. The other actors in these scenes included Claudia Karvan, Graeme Blundell, and of course Natalie Portman and Hayden Christensen. Don't know about number three yet!
Q: Your parents were great entertainers ... will another Noble carry on the family show business tradition?
A: It's possible that my gorgeous four-year-old grandson Damon may take up the challenge. He captured my This is Your Life audience at the Capitol and he sings to me over the phone from the US. * Trisha Noble appears in Three Winters Green with Gerry Sont and a talented younger cast including Josh Hannaford and Katie McCarthy.
Where: Stables Theatre, Kings Cross.
When: February 5-March 1.
